Entry-Level Visa Sponsorship Europe 2026: Country Data
Poland leads Europe on graduate visa sponsorship rate; finance beats tech. Live JobPing data with the salary floors that decide who can hire you.

In this report
International graduate visa sponsorship in Europe varies sharply by country and sector: Poland flags 8.8% of early-career roles, Germany just 1%, and finance sponsors at nearly double the rate of tech. JobPing's database of 27,000+ early-career roles across the UK and Europe (snapshot: 14 July 2026) shows only a small share explicitly advertise visa sponsorship. Filter by country and career path in JobPing before you write a cover letter, sit an assessment, or burn a CV rewrite on a role that cannot sponsor you.
Visa eligibility is a filter, not a footnote. The share of listings that flag sponsorship ranges from 8.8% in Poland to 1% in Germany, with finance (5%) and operations (3.2%) leading every sector we track.
This guide covers: country and sector sponsorship rates, salary floors for Skilled Worker, EU Blue Card, and Critical Skills permits, top sponsoring employers, and a practical action plan for visa-dependent graduates.
Graduate visa sponsorship rates: live data
We track early-career listings across the UK and Europe in our database every day. For this report we counted all active and recent roles and flagged listings that mention visa sponsorship, EU Blue Card eligibility, or UK Skilled Worker sponsorship.

Visa sponsorship by country
| Country | Roles tracked | Explicit visa sponsorship |
|---|---|---|
| Poland | 1,134 | 8.8% (highest country) |
| Spain | 2,166 | 4.2% |
| Ireland | 1,366 | 5.8% |
| United Kingdom | 5,414 | 2.5% |

The UK and Germany list the most jobs. They also have the lowest explicit sponsorship rates in this sample. Volume and visa access do not move together.
Why finance sponsors more graduate visas than tech in 2026
Conventional advice tells international students to learn to code and let tech employers handle the visa. JobPing's numbers run the other way: finance roles flag sponsorship at 5%, tech at 2.6%.
Two forces explain the gap.
Tech hiring cooled. Scale-ups and mid-size software firms cut speculative entry-level hiring as profitability replaced headcount growth. Sponsorship fees and admin cost money. Fewer open junior seats means fewer visas.
Local tech supply grew. Bootcamps and CS graduates across Western Europe filled much of the entry-level pipeline. Firms that once imported junior developers can hire domestically or within the EEA without sponsorship.
Finance runs on a different model. Bulge-bracket banks, the Big Four, and global asset managers run permanent immigration teams, repeat sponsor licences, and graduate salaries that often clear national thresholds. Sponsorship there is routine, not exceptional.
For London specifically, see our London finance graduate jobs 2026 report on salary bands, deadlines, and employer-level visa patterns.
Poland: graduate visa sponsorship, salaries, and Blue Card rules
Entry-level salary range (2026): €24,000 to €32,000 base
Threshold check: Entry-level pay in Poland typically clears the EU Blue Card floor for the region, even at the lower end of advertised bands.
Employers hiring in our database: HSBC Kraków, ING Poland, Accenture Warsaw, Deloitte Poland, UBS Wrocław, EY Shared Services.
Poland hosts more than 1,700 Global Business Services centres. Finance operations, data analysis, and shared services roles dominate graduate hiring in Kraków and Wrocław. Blue Card processing often takes two to four weeks after employment starts, shorter than in most Western European markets.
At 8.8%, Poland has the highest explicit sponsorship rate in this study.
Spain: graduate visa sponsorship, salaries, and work permits
Entry-level salary range (2026): €28,000 to €38,000 base
Threshold check: Corporate, tech, and financial data roles often qualify under Spain's fast-track international talent rules at entry-level pay.
Employers hiring in our database: Santander Madrid, BBVA, Amadeus (Madrid/Nice hubs), Glovo Barcelona, eDreams ODIGEO, PwC Spain.
Spain's 4.2% sponsorship rate is driven by Barcelona tech hiring and Madrid banking. General corporate roles skew local. Quantitative, software, and international business development jobs sponsor more often.
Ireland: Critical Skills permits and Dublin graduate hiring
Entry-level salary range (2026): €32,000 to €50,000 base (US tech HQs in Dublin often pay €55,000 to €75,000+)
Threshold check: The Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) minimum is €40,904. Recent graduates within 12 months of qualifying may use a lower €36,848 floor for listed shortage occupations.
Employers hiring in our database: Google, Meta, HubSpot, Stripe, TikTok, KPMG Dublin, Aercap.
Ireland's 5.8% rate splits the market. Multinational software, data, and aircraft leasing roles usually clear CSEP pay floors. Domestic entry-level operations and admin often do not. Many non-EU graduates use Stamp 1G graduate permission (up to 24 months after a Level 9+ qualification) to work without sponsorship while searching for a qualifying permanent role.
For Dublin hiring by sector, see Dublin graduate jobs 2026.
United Kingdom: Skilled Worker visa and graduate sponsorship
Entry-level salary range (2026): £32,000 to £65,000 base
Threshold check: The Skilled Worker general salary floor is £41,700, or the occupation going rate if higher. Recent graduates classified as "new entrants" may qualify at £33,400.
Employers hiring in our database: Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Deloitte London, PwC, EY, HSBC, NatWest Group.
The UK lists 5,414 early-career roles in this sample, more than any other country here. Only 2.5% explicitly flag sponsorship. International applicants concentrate in high-pay tracks: investment banking analyst schemes, quantitative risk, and large consulting graduate programmes where base pay clears the threshold. UK graduates can also use the Graduate Route visa for open work permission while they search - but applications submitted from 1 January 2027 receive 18 months instead of 24.
Germany: EU Blue Card rules and low sponsorship rates
Entry-level salary range (2026): €42,000 to €52,000 base
Threshold check: The standard EU Blue Card minimum in Germany is €50,700 gross per year. IT, engineering, maths, and graduates within three years of qualification may qualify at €45,934.20 in shortage fields.
Employers hiring in our database: SAP, Siemens, Deutsche Bank Frankfurt, Allianz Munich, Zalando Berlin, Delivery Hero.
Germany's 1% explicit sponsorship rate is the lowest in this study. Typical corporate and marketing graduate offers of €42,000 to €45,000 fall short of Blue Card floors unless the role sits in a shortage occupation such as software engineering.

Salary thresholds for graduate visa sponsorship in 2026
Governments across the UK and EU have raised salary floors rather than closing visa routes outright. Sponsorship now skews toward employers that can pay above median graduate wages.
| Country | Standard threshold | Lower floor (if eligible) |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom (Skilled Worker) | £41,700 | £33,400 (new entrant) |
| Germany (EU Blue Card) | €50,700 | €45,934 (shortage / recent graduate) |
| Ireland (Critical Skills) | €40,904 | €36,848 (recent graduate, listed role) |
Verify current figures on official government sites before you apply. Thresholds update with inflation.
Indexed salary floors cut out mid-tier sponsors
UK salary floors now track wage inflation. The £41,700 general threshold removed many mid-size agencies and creative shops from the sponsor pool. A £35,000 marketing coordinator role is legal for a British hire and impossible to sponsor for an international one.
EU Blue Card rules differ by country
The EU Blue Card Directive shortened minimum contract length to six months and eased moves between member states. National implementation still diverges.
Poland used the rules to expand shared-service hiring in Kraków and Wrocław. Lower office costs let firms pay above the local Blue Card floor while keeping headcount lean.
Germany adopted shortage thresholds for young graduates but kept the €50,700 standard floor high. A €44,000 marketing analyst offer is normal for a local hire and fails Blue Card rules for an international candidate.
Tech firms sponsor less; banks sponsor more
After two slow years in European tech hiring, domestic junior talent is easier to find. Banks, asset managers, and consultancies still recruit internationally for regulated desks and client-facing roles where language skills and global credentials matter.
What to do if you need visa sponsorship as a graduate
- Filter for sponsorship before you apply. In every country above, fewer than 1 in 10 early-career roles explicitly flag it. Do not prepare for assessment centres on jobs that cannot sponsor you.
- Pick sector before country hype. Finance and strategy sponsor at roughly double the rate of marketing. Tech is not the default visa path it was five years ago.
- Compare country rates, not job counts. Poland (8.8%) and Spain (4.2%) beat the UK (2.5%) and Germany (1%) on explicit sponsorship flags in our data.
- Confirm salary against the legal floor. Ask recruiters: does this role qualify for a Skilled Worker visa, Blue Card, or Critical Skills permit, and does the pay meet the current threshold?
- Apply across multiple markets in parallel, not sequentially. Poland and Ireland sponsor at 5–10x the rate of Germany in our data. Candidates who run parallel applications across two or three markets multiply their visa-eligible shortlist without multiplying their prep time. Get 10 free visa-filtered graduate job matches by country, career path, and sponsorship needs.
- Tailor separately for each country's format, not just each role. A CV that clears UK finance ATS differs structurally from a German DACH application or an Irish Big Four submission. Once a role clears the visa and salary floor, run it through CV Ping to close the keyword gaps specific to that employer's ATS - the signals that generic CVs miss differ by market as much as by role.
FAQ
Where do international graduates get visa sponsorship in Europe? In JobPing's 14 July 2026 database, Poland (8.8%), Ireland (5.8%), and Spain (4.2%) had the highest rates of explicit visa sponsorship flags among early-career roles. Finance (5%) and operations (3.2%) sponsored more than tech (2.6%) or marketing (2.1%).
Why does Poland sponsor more visas than Germany? Poland dropped labour market tests for key sectors and accepts six-month contracts for EU Blue Cards. Germany's Blue Card floor is €50,700 (€45,934.20 for shortage roles and recent graduates). Standard German graduate salaries in corporate and marketing often sit at €42,000 to €45,000, below that line. Poland (8.8%) sponsors at 9x the rate of Germany (1%).
Can I get a UK Skilled Worker visa on a £30,000 salary? No. The minimum for a new entrant is £33,400. Most roles require £41,700 or the occupation going rate, whichever is higher. Check the Skilled Worker salary rules and the employer's entry on the register of licensed sponsors.
Is visa sponsorship harder in tech than finance? In JobPing's data, yes. Finance roles flag sponsorship at 5%; tech at 2.6%. Large banks and accounting firms run standing immigration processes. Which European country is easiest for visa sponsorship as a graduate? By explicit listing flags in our database, Poland (8.8%) ranks first, followed by Ireland (5.8%) and Spain (4.2%). Ease also depends on your sector, salary, and whether you hold a local graduate visa such as Ireland's Stamp 1G or the UK Graduate Route.
What is the EU Blue Card salary minimum in Germany in 2026? €50,700 for standard occupations. €45,934.20 for shortage fields (including IT and engineering) and for applicants who graduated within the last three years.
What is the UK Skilled Worker visa salary threshold in 2026? £41,700 general threshold, or the going rate for the SOC code if higher. £33,400 for new entrants (including many recent UK graduates switching from Student or Graduate Route visas).
